What a great Blue & Gold Dinner!!

Many thanks for hours of hard work and preparation to Peggy Greco and her helpers, Lisa Dushane and Lynn Pearson, who pulled together an unforgettable Blue & Gold Dinner.  It was a very impressive and entertaining evening.  So much so, that Charles Perkins is requesting that it falls on his birthday again next yearJ

Pick Up Registration Materials at Friday’s Pack Meeting (4/18)

Registration for next year will be due by May 16th pack meeting.  Marybeth Buck will have new registration forms to pass out at Friday's Pack meeting.  Sign up early to get your neckerchief, slider, new book and start working over the summer!

 

Council Newsletter Available On-line

The Northwest Suburban Council is making their newsletter available online.  If you would like to be kept updated on scouting events and camping opportunities simply go to their website and sign up to receive this free newsletter   http://www.nwsc.org       Your email address will be added to their secure database.  Your information will not be sold or distributed for any other use.  You will want to sign up for "Northwest News" and if you want to "Cub Scout News".   It only takes a few seconds to sign up and will save the Council thousands of dollars in printing and postage costs - not to mention saving a few trees!!!

 

 

Future Events

 

American Brain Tumor Association Path to Progress 5k Walk/Run is set for April 26th 

Please support a fellow Pack 132 Eagle Scout’s Family in raising funds to help find a cure for brain tumors.  Please see the attached letter for more details

 

Flower Sales Pick Up (5/3)

Please remember to pick up your flowers from 9am-10am on Saturday, May 3rd.  If your flower sales totaled more than $500, they will be delivered to your home.  If no one will be home, make arrangements for someone to receive your order, and inform Tim Moore via            Email: tmoore217@wowway.com by Thursday, May 1st as to who will accept delivery.

Flower money is due back to your Den Leader no later than May 11th.

 

Bonfire at the May Pack Meeting (5/16)

May 16th Pack meeting is a bon fire in the church parking lot!!!  We are looking for volunteers to bring outdoor fireplaces and wood.  Please encourage your Scout to invite a friend to experience Cub Scouting.

 

Scout/Parent Memorial Day Weekend Camping Opportunity at Camp Blackwell

Start the camping season off right with the Memorial Day weekend at Camp Blackwell in Wheaton (this is NOT family camping - scout and one parent only).  If you are interested, get your completed permission slip (attached) and money in to Kent Morikado.  MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A MEDICAL FORM ON FILE WITH THE PACK FOR YOU AND THE ADULT GOING WITH YOU!!!!!!  If you have any other questions please contact Kent Morikado kkmorikado@sbcglobal.net  or Rich Baldino richardbaldino@comcast.net  

 

Family Memorial Day Weekend Camping Opportunity at Camp Napowan

If you would rather camp with the whole family over Memorial Day Weekend, Camp Napowan may be the right place for you.  It’s in Wild Rose, Wisconsin, about 3 1/2 hours away.  All family members can participate in activities.  The Pack 132 participants to camp together Please let John Brooks know if you are interested in going or if you have any questions (847-342-0957 or e-mail johnb@henry-lee.com).  Each family should submit the paperwork (attached) to Council as required on the form along with payment ($60/family).

 

Webelos Weekends this Summer

This is for boys and a parent that are entering the 4th and 5th grades or will be Webelos next year.

                        Camp Napowan             Wild Rose, WI   - June 13 -15th

                        Camp Lakota                 Woodstock, IL   - August 8 – 10th

These are fun opportunities for the scout and a parent.  All the information for this outing is on the attached brochure.  You should have received a flyer in the mail already Some of the packs that went had up to 15 Webelos from their pack.  The more boys that go the more fun they may have.  If you are going to Camp Napowan please let me know and turn in the form by Jun 1st to the Council office.  Food will be provided and it is not too bad.  (We are planning to attend Napowan again this year.)

 

Camp Lakota is a great place to go too.  It is closer and they should have a pool by then.  Again, please let me know if you will be going to this camp.

 

 

Summertime Scouting is right around the corner! 

Please review all the great camping opportunities available through September, offered by Cub Scouts.  Details attached.

 

Housekeeping

Reminder to scouts and parents that at Pack meetings the scouts and siblings are to remain in Fellowship Hall and not be running around the church.  If a scout or sibling needs to leave to get a drink or go to the bathroom they must be accompanied by an adult!!!

Positions Available Next Year

There are several major committee positions that will be open next year (March 2009).  If any one is interested in one of these positions now would be the time to sign on and train with the current member through next year.  Just contact Marybeth Buck (marybeth@temperaturemaintenance.com ) for further details.  The open positions will be:  Committee Chair, Assistant Cubmaster, newsletter editor, web page editor, camp coordinator, fundraising chairperson (2 people needed), pack trainer, Derby/Regatta (2people needed), recruitment coordinator, and advancement coordinator jobs.
